Volkl is expanding the popular Blaze line with the Blaze 82.
The 2024 Volkl Blaze 82 Womens is not only the narrowest of the Blaze series but also extremely light, which is partly due to the extra-light tip-to-tail wood core. This continuous wood core runs from the tip to the tail and is glued together from a complex combination of very light but stablewood types. This combination helps the Blaze 82 W achieve its lively dynamic characteristics while providing the necessary stability in demanding snow conditions. Thanks to its low weight, the model is particularly versatile, which makes it highly efficient for ascents. Among other things, it is suitable for entry-level ski touring, or as a versatile alternative to touring skis, with a little more on-resort performance.
With the 3D Radius Sidecut technology used on all Blaze models, Völkl has set a benchmark in terms of radius variability as well as the combination of ease of handling and resistance to interference. The narrower radius in the centre area of the ski supports the skier at more moderate speeds and provides more agility in quick turns–an advantage, especially for off-piste adventures. At the same time, the longer radius in the tip and tail promises stability in choppy and wind-blown snow
Volkl utilises Suspension Tips & Tails for the first time. This technology ensures smooth turn initiation and good handling and gives the skis solid stability, even in challenging and changing snow conditions. The inserts are made of elastic, rubber-like material on the edges of the tip and tail of the ski cushion the initial contact between snow and ski. Thanks to their damping elasticity, the Suspension Tips & Tails act as a bumper and noticeably support making smooth round turns especially in hard, wind-blown or tracked snow.
